AYSEM R. SENYUREKLI, PhD, LMFT

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my site. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Minnesota. I provide in person and virtual therapy for adults, and educational presentations and workshops to schools, community groups and organizations. I hold a Ph.D. in Family Social Science from the University of Minnesota, an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego, and a B.S. in Applied Psychology from Montana State University-Bozeman.

My Clinical Focus

Clinically, my focus is on helping clients find greater fulfillment in their lives and relationships. More specifically, I aim to help clients address issues manifesting in the mind and body which prevent their ability to thrive. This often involves identifying, better understanding, and discarding the use of maladaptive coping mechanisms that may have been useful in the past but prevent growth and fulfillment now. It also involves lifting the intensity of present day emotions associated with past traumas.

I utilize theories and empirical knowledge from the fields of family therapy, psychology, and neuroscience to guide my work. I also integrate mindfulness practices geared towards helping clients more effectively access the present moment, even when the pull may be towards regrets about the past and worries about the future. I am a Master ART Practitioner and use evidence-based Accelerated Resolution Therapy to help in the treatment of problems associated with past traumas.

Presentations and Workshops

A valuable part of my work is to serve communities through education. I have a broad set of experiences in teaching at universities, presenting at professional conferences, and holding workshops with community organizations like ECFE groups and school-based parent education groups. I enjoy partnering with groups to identify their specific interests and needs so that I can tailor an educational experience for them. Examples of these experiences include “Baby Proofing Your Relationship” (for new parents) and “Getting to Know Your Nervous System” (for stress management and emotion regulation).

The Logistics

If you are interested in therapy, please e-mail me at aysem.senyurekli@parkdaletherapy.org or call me at (952) 224-0399 (x 111) to see if I am taking on new clients. When you reach out to me, we will schedule a 15-20 minute virtual consultation to determine if we are a good fit for working together. For clients seeking therapy, everyone who will be participating in the therapy should be present for this conversation.

For those inquiring about a presentation or workshop, please call or e-mail me and we can discuss your needs and determine next steps.

Payment Information

For therapy, I am in network with most major health insurance companies. Please contact me to see if I am currently working with your health insurance plan. If I am out of network with your plan or you choose to pay out of pocket, my hourly rate is $160. You can use a Health Savings Account (HSA) to pay for your sessions, and could receive partial reimbursement from your health insurance company after submitting an itemized receipt (provided by me) for out of network services received. Please contact your HSA plan and/or your insurance company to explore these options.

My hourly rate for presentations and workshops will vary based on the scope and depth of your group’s needs.

About Me

I joined Parkdale Therapy Group in 2018. Previously, I was a therapist with The Emily Program where I worked with clients who were healing from eating disorders and body image concerns. Prior to this, I was a therapist with Rekindle Counseling in Edina where I worked primarily with couples to address challenges with communication, intimacy, and trust. I also presented regularly to ECFE groups in the community. Earlier in my career, I enjoyed teaching students in the Family Social Science program at the University of Minnesota and the Marriage and Family Therapy program at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. I also led and participated in multiple research projects within higher education institutions where I first found my passion for gathering qualitative data to explore unanswered questions.
