Jake is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He obtained his Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary's University in Minneapolis, and holds dual Bachelor of Art degrees in Philosophy and Catholic Studies from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.
Jake's professional background includes working at several community based mental health clinics as well as providing in-home therapeutic services. He enjoys working with individuals and groups and treats many issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, spiritual, couples issues, men's issues, confidence, boundaries, and self-esteem. Jake also works with men dealing with sexual compulsions including addictions to pornography and masturbation.
Jake is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Clients have found it extremely helpful in recovering from both big and small trauma, depression, anxiety, low self confidence and self-esteem, negative thinking, among other issues. Jake has lots of interests including camping, hunting, grilling, gardening, mountain biking and kayaking. Jake is also a master pumpkin carver and world traveler.
